Did you know that Aquarius Casino entertainment is sometimes free to patrons of the casino.  During the early afternoon and evening, Casino patrons can sit and enjoy free entertainment in the lounge. Patrons can also purchase drinks or get up and dance if the music moves you.

We spent an enjoyable evening listening to a country and western band and watching line dancing in the lounge area. It was quite entertaining and very enjoyable. The band was very good and the dancers were just people visiting who enjoyed dancing. There were two women who with the band and they got up often to dance and help others particularly with the line dances which are a complicated sequence of moves as far as this writer is concerned. It was all very entertaining and absolutely free. Patrons needed to pay for drinks while watching, however you could also just bring in a drink that you got in the casino for free if you wanted.

There is only one lounge area with entertainment as far as we could tell. There is a sports area where you can also watch races and sports games as well, while betting if you enjoy that sort of thing. The city of Laughlin in conjunction with the casinos also sponsors big name entertainment from time to time. Their objective is to book rooms and attract customers to the city and to their hotels and casino’s. It works and Laughlin is often a booming place on the weekends.

The Aquarius Casino is a big casino with high ceilings and a fairly large non smoking area for those that cannot tolerate the stale cigarette smoke. The Aquarius Casino Entertainment also includes all of the latest slot machines and table games that everyone looks for. Golfers and also take in a golf game on one of the local courses and spend the evening at the casino.

All casinos offer slot cards and they all suggest that each person have their own card to track their play separately. There are several reasons why you really should follow this approach. For example when it comes to cashing in your comp’s, especially free play most people want to play their own free play and not share with their spouse or partner. Also if you win a large jackpot you may need to pay tax on it. The tax slip must be issued to the person that won the jackpot and not necessarily the slot card player. If you need a win loss statement it will only be issued to the person registered on the slot card. A win loss statement can mean that you get a refund on your taxes! Two Slot Cards on One Account is not always the best approach.

Two Slot Cards on One Account

Many couples will ask for two cards in the same name figuring that their points will add up faster. They will receive comp’s faster. While this is true in many casinos, some have decided that this approach is not following their rules. As a result they will discontinue a card if it is not being played in a machine beside the first card. Points are lost and the player loses out on comp’s as a result. If players playing on the same card, are playing adjacent to each other, the casino will usually let this go. If they play on machines that are far apart, the casino may decide that this is really not the same person. They may disallow one or both cards until the player comes to the casino host to discuss the issue.

We suggest that each player have their own card for these reasons. Many casinos will combine two cards if requested to determine comp’s for things like free rooms. Free play and meals are awarded on a card basis only at most casinos.

The Claim Jumper in the Golden Nugget casino in Laughlin Nevada is one of our favorite restaurants to visit whenever we are in Laughlin. The Claim Jumper is located near the front entrance that sports a tropical setting. This restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices with great service. We always go for breakfast and usually split the meals. The meal size is large and more than enough for two people, at least for us. Many people never finish their meals leaving food on their plates. I guess it is a sign of our age or upbringing that shows through when we mentioned this point. We were always told to finish our plates when we were growing up.

Claim Jumper – Golden Nugget Casino

The Golden Nugget is a nice casino to visit as well. Although the ceilings are a bit low, they have lots of slot machines to play. The entrance has a tropical setting. There is access to the boardwalk that runs along the Colorado River to all of the other casinos. Drinks are free while you are playing slots and you also can sign up for a Golden Nugget Slot card which may provide you with various comp’s based on how much you play.

Food comp’s build up on your slot card as you play and these comp’s can be used at the various restaurants in the casino including the Claim Jumper. Apparently it is also part of a chain of restaurants across the US which you can sign up for to obtain free meals depending on how often you dine. It did not work for us since we do not go to the areas that the restaurant chain is in, but it sounded like a good deal.

We recently visited the Pala Casino Resort and Spa on southern California. It is located near San Diego just off of I5 and quite easy to get to as long as your prepared for the windy and curvy roads that lead to it. The casino has over 2000 slot machines along with a variety of the standard tables for your enjoyment. There is a nice hotel for patrons to spend the night, a great pool to spend time at as shown in the picture and of course the spa. Patrons should book the spa and arrive 30 minutes in advance to prepare for the treatment etc. Full instructions and costs can be found on the casinos web site for the Pala Casino Resort and Spa.

Pala Casino Resort and Spa – Restaurants

We dined in one of the restaurants in the casino. The food was excellent, the service very good and the size of the portions were large. There is also an outside eating area, however it was under construction at the time we were there. You have a nice view of the mountains and the surrounding property. There are also several fast-food restaurants, a deli and of course more high end areas to enjoy fine dining.

Pala Casino Resort and Spa – Casino

The casino is large with over 2000 slot machines of all types from penny machines to high roller machines. They also have video poker and keno machines of various denominations. The casino has high ceilings with good air circulation. The smoke from people smoking is not much of a problem. Although there is a noticeable smell when you enter the casino. Maybe one day Indian casinos will not allow smoking in the casino, however, we do not see this happening anytime soon.  At least they have good air circulation at this one. This particular casino also has soft drink machines available throughout the casino for those that need a drink from time to time. There is no charge for these beverages. Beer and wine are served at the bar as well as at the machines, although they are very expensive compared to some other locations.

The Pala Casino and Resort in beautiful northern San Diego County, Pala is located 15 miles north of Escondido, 12 miles south
of Temecula. Pala is nestled in the mountains in a beautiful desert setting. It is relatively easy to get to, however some of the roads are narrow with lots of curves. We found drivers tend to travel very fast on these roads compared to someone who has never driven these particular roads before. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place to come to relax. Have a good meal and enjoy the entertainment along with the usual gambling opportunities. We found the casino to be very clean, modern and enjoyable.

Pala casino has over 2000 slots of all varieties along with table games, penny machines to the high roller slots that many people enjoy. There is a good number of video poker machines and keno machines as well. The floor is rectangular which means that few people will get lost in the casino. This is actually a problem in many of the larger casinos with floor layouts that are not in a rectangular layout. Smoking is allowed, although that did not appear to be a problem when we were there. There is good ventilation.

There are several restaurants including coffee shops and deli’s, fast food takeout. As well as sit down areas with great service. We found the portions large and very tasty. Patrons can also share meals if they find that the amounts are too large for them. We spent the day at Pala and enjoyed it very much. There was one exception. Wine can be expensive if you do not order the house wine. Most casinos offer inexpensive refreshments, however, this is not the case with Pala. Be prepared to pay a little more for your drinks than you would at other Indian casinos. Certainly a lot more than at Vegas casinos.
