Casinos near Memphis Tennessee

Approximately one hour south of Memphis by car, there is the small town of Tunica Mississippi. This area is home to approximately 10 casinos that are spread out over about 10 miles along the Mississippi River. The large chain casinos are there including Harrahs, MGM and several others. In fact several of these casinos are associated with Casinos in Nevada as well as California. This means you can use your slot cards in these casinos and be comp’d for rooms and meals just the same way in Las Vegas. You may find that your slot points go further in these Casinos near Memphis Tennessee because prices are lower in general than they are in Vegas. Goldstrike Casino

We enjoy staying at the Goldstrike casino run by MGM grand group. This is a modern hotel with surface parking as well as garage parking, excellent restaurants and a great casino.

In addition to the Goldstrike Casino, there’s the Horseshoe Casino and the Tunica roadhouse Casino and Hotel located right next door. This particular location is very comfortable in the sense that you can walk to any of the three casinos without having to consider getting into your car. For all of the other casinos in the area you either need to take the shuttle bus or drive your car to get to them and of course you have to be careful about how much you drink.

Location

Tunica is located about one hour south of Memphis and about five hours north of New Orleans. There’s golfing in the area and it is well-connected by major highways for easy transportation to the casinos. There is lots to do in the Memphis area, including visiting Elvis’s mansion.

There is a tour through the mansion. Fans of Elvis can also walk through his planes to get a feel for what they were like.. You can also eat at his restaurant and order one of his sandwiches.
